System Requirements

There are two parts to RemotePresenterView. The RemotePresenterView client app runs on your tablet, and the server app on the computer you normally use to give your presentations. Here are the system requirements for each:

For your tablet:

  • Windows 8 or Windows RT

  • Ability to install apps from the Windows App Store

  • Works with Windows 8 laptops and desktops, if you don't have a tablet!

For the computer you use to give your presentation:

  • Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8

    • Windows 7 and 8 support all features.

    • Windows Vista does not support Direct WiFi mode.

    • Windows XP does not support Direct WiFi mode and automatic firewall configuration.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, 2010, or 2013

    • Older versions of PowerPoint are not compatible.

  • .NET Framework 3.5

    • All Windows 7 and 8 computers already have this.

    • Most Windows XP and Vista computers already have this, or you can download it from Microsoft.

  • For best performance, your computer should have at least an Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent, and at least 2GB of RAM.

Additional requirements:

  • You must be able to connect both devices to the same network, or to networks which can talk to each other.

    • Example 1: Your tablet and the computer running your slideshow are connected to the same wireless router.

    • Example 2: Your tablet is connected to your university's WiFi, and the computer running the slideshow is a permanently installed desktop in a classroom connected to the wired network.*

    • Example 3: The computer running the slideshow is a Windows 7 or 8 laptop, and you use RemotePresenterView's Direct WiFi mode to connect your tablet directly, with no router required.

  • You DO NOT need to be able to configure the firewall or install programs on the computer running the slideshow.

    • RemotePresenterView Server can be run directly off a flash drive, without the need to permanently install it on the computer.

    • RemotePresenterView's Reverse Connection mode let's you connect without needing administrator permissions or firewall configuration.

*While RemotePresenterView was designed to be compatible with most corporate and university network environments, there may be some networks which are configured in ways that prevent RemotePresenterView from working. Please test compatibility of RemotePresenterView using the trial version of the app from the Windows App Store before purchasing.
